Surda Abu Qash Municipality, represented by its Mayor, Mr. Jad Mohareb Shallout, and attended by Deputy Mayor Mr. Nael Al-Shamali, welcomed a delegation from the Birzeit Directorate of Education, headed by Ms. Haniya Nazzal, Director General of Education. The delegation also included Dr. Sawsan Al-Arouri, Principal of Abu Qash Boys Upper Basic School, and Ms. Zuhiya Arrar, Principal of Abu Qash Girls Secondary School, who visited the municipality to congratulate the newly elected Municipal Council on the commencement of its new term.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Mayor welcomed the delegation and extended his greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the municipality, the Birzeit Directorate of Education, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Local Government, and all national institutions, stressing that partnership and shared responsibility are essential to serving the local community.
The Mayor affirmed that education is a fundamental pillar of community development and that supporting students and the educational process represents a genuine investment in the future of Palestine. He noted that the current challenges facing the country make it even more important to unite efforts to ensure the continuity of education and further improve its quality.
For her part, Ms. Haniya Nazzal praised the municipality's continued support for local schools and its commitment to advancing the education sector. She highlighted the importance of maintaining close coordination and cooperation to enhance the educational environment and provide better opportunities for students.
The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to strengthening joint cooperation and coordinating future efforts to support the educational sector and contribute to the resilience and development of the Palestinian community.
