As part of its commitment to strengthening cooperation between public institutions and serving the local community, Surda Abu Qash Municipality, represented by Mayor Mr. Jad Mohareb Shallout, and attended by Deputy Mayor Mr. Nael Al-Shamali and Municipal Council Member Mr. Louay Taha, welcomed a delegation from the Palestinian Police, represented by Major Yazan Al-Jamal, Director of Birzeit Police.
During the meeting, both parties discussed ways to enhance public safety and security in the towns of Surda and Abu Qash, as well as a number of issues related to residents' needs. Discussions emphasized the importance of increasing police patrols, particularly during the evening hours and in densely populated and high-activity areas, in order to strengthen public safety and provide residents with a greater sense of security and reassurance.
The meeting also reviewed the role of the Surda Abu Qash Community Council, which was established during the tenure of Major General Allam Al-Saqqa as Director General of the Palestinian Police. The Council was created to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the police and the local community. Its members include Major Yazan Al-Jamal, Director of Birzeit Police; Captain Ebaa Al-Barghouthi, representing the Community Police in Birzeit; Mr. Jad Mohareb Shallout, Mayor of Surda Abu Qash Municipality; in addition to a number of community leaders, dignitaries, and representatives of local institutions.
Both sides highlighted the important role played by the Community Council in strengthening communication and cooperation between the municipality, the police, and the community, as well as in addressing community issues and promoting security and social stability, ultimately contributing to improved public services and the well-being of the residents of Surda and Abu Qash.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Mayor expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Palestinian Police in maintaining public order and security, reaffirming the municipality's commitment to continued coordination and cooperation in support of the public interest and the safety and stability of the local community.
